Is it okay to write in different genres?

I just wrote the first book in my teen suspense series but before i work on the next one I wanted to do something else but it's a teen romance/ coming of age novel. And I know those are two different things, but is it okay to write in two different genres. As a matter of fact, I have a few more ideas as well that are in the same (but a couple are different) genres as well. Is this okay? I was just asking because I know that most authors write in the same genre with the exception of a very few and they are well known.
