The soft feathers of ducks or geese used for stuffing pillows and matress?

Ducks and geese grow down feathers at breeding time and they pluck the feathers from their breasts to line the nest. Eider ducks have particularly good down and collectors remove the down from the nests at the end of the breeding season. The down is cleaned and is then ready for use. The birds are not killed to get the down.
